8 mil Reinforced White / Black by Americover

Americover’s Black/White 8 mil string reinforced polyethylene is a material that is manufactured using a mix of virgin polyethylene resins. This product can be used for most medium duty, and some heavy duty applications. The resin is formed into skins that act as the “bread” to the reinforced “sandwich”. To manufacturer this product we use a black polyethylene skin on one side and a white polyethylene skin on the other. The skins encapsulate a grid pattern of polyester yarn, and a hot sheet of polyethylene, to form a very strong three layer product appropriate for multiple applications. This reinforced product is characterized by its excellent tear strength at the yarn, and its outstanding elongation properties that are provided by the open areas between the strings (scrim). In crawl space liner applications the white plastic side would be faced up to give a clean feeling to the crawlspace.
