26 Jul Tips for a Haunting Halloween Attraction
in Halloween Haunted House
The Haunted Holiday
Halloween; Each year in the US, Americans all across the nation truly put their creativity to work to show the community what a real fright looks like. From small residential home attractions, to huge commercial displays, Halloween is a perfect outlet to let your imagination wonder. If you are making a haunted house using your own garage, yard, or home, think of the best way to maximize space.
As this person did (image below), using plastic sheeting to make wall partitions can make quite a fun labyrinth of hallways and corridors, out of just a two car garage! You can do the same in a driveway, backyard, or patio. This also makes the perfect temporary “wall” if you want to spray paint over it. Perhaps consider contrasting the black plastic walls with some neon spray paint and replace your light bulbs with blacklights for that extra creepy factor.
BEWARE…. Of the Fire Marshal!
No matter what the holiday or occasion, Fire Marshals are always on the prowl to uncover unsafe situations where fire hazard is potential. As with any situation, it’s always better to be safe than sorry! You can read more about why fire retardant plastic sheeting has become required here. You can also learn more about the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the current requirements for all Halloween attractions here.
Outsmart the fire marshal and use Fire Retardant plastic sheeting for your venue! This ensures that you are up to code and your attraction is guaranteed safe. The Black Fire Retardant sheeting we carry is extraordinarily popular for such applications, and comes in 4 and 8 mil thicknesses. We also carry a 4 mil White Fire Retardant poly which is partially translucent, making it ideal for creepy shadow effects, fake windows, etc.
