What type of plastic sheeting does Americover recommend for your Haunted House?
Don’t skimp out on the plastic sheeting.
It may seem cheaper to stop by your local hardware store to buy just any type of black plastic for your haunted house walls or maze walls, but for public safety reasons, your haunted house is actually considered a special amusement building by most government agencies. This means “interior wall and ceiling finish materials must be class A throughout.” Local laws may vary, but in general, they typically state something similar to, “All decorative materials shall be composed of flame retardant materials or shall be treated with a flame retardant.” Since most public events require a fire inspection prior to approval, this one minor detail can result in you starting from scratch and not opening on time.
We have been selling black fire retardant plastic sheeting into the Haunted House Industry since 1993. It’s been recommended by the California Fire Marshal and tested to meet NFPA 701 fire standards. Our fire retardant plastic sheeting is extremely UV resistant and contains double black carbon to prevent light from shining through. Due to its high tensile strength properties it is highly tear resistant and extremely flexible. It’s lightweight so it’s easy to hang and tape in place or use in other decorations and props. White fire retardant sheeting can be used to create shadow effects in addition to being used in props. Shop Now for Haunted House Plastic Sheeting.
