Non-woven geotextile fabrics are manufactured to look and feel like felt fabric. The fibers are either mechanically entangled with barbed needles or spun onto a collecting belt and bonded with heat. Nonwoven fabrics are used for filtration and separation in various applications to allow water to pass or as an overlay fabric. Non-woven geotextiles are available in standard roll sizes of 15′ x 300′ or 12.5′ x 360′.
