Since 1993
We’ve Been Supplying the Telecom and Data Industry Since Before It Was Called a Data Center
Americover has supplied the telecommunications industry with spec-grade FR materials since 1993. We didn’t just add ASFR6 to our line card — we developed it in direct response to telecom industry needs. That same product now goes into hyperscale data center builds across the country.
When contractors need compliance documentation for submittal, we have it ready. We include compliance documents with every order, so your team has them ready when the AHJ asks. When an estimator needs to know which product fits a specific application, we can tell them. That’s what three decades in this space looks like.
Years Supplying the Telecom & Data Industry
In this space since 1993 — before hyperscale was a word.
No Minimum Order Requirements on Stock Rolls
Order one roll or a full pallet from stocked inventory. Custom orders are also available and may require minimums.
Compliance Documentation Included
Compliance documents are included with every order so your contractor has them ready for the AHJ, submittal package, or GC file.

Products
The Right Product for Every Phase of the Job
Four products. Each spec’d for a specific application on data center and telecom projects. Compliance documents are included with every order, and select materials like Dura Skrim and ASFR6 include printed specifications for easier field confirmation.

Temporary Barriers & Dust Containment
The most frequently specified FR sheeting on active data center sites. Built for temporary construction barriers, smoke containment, and penetration sealing. A dependable workhorse for fire protection and mechanical subs on active jobs.
ASTM E-84 Class A
NFPA 241

Heavy Barriers & Equipment Protection
Same compliance credentials as DS2FR with a heavier gauge for longer-duration installs and mechanical equipment protection during staging. When the job runs long or the equipment on the other side is expensive, spec the 10 mil.
ASTM E-84 Class A
NFPA 241

Hot/Cold Aisle Containment & Cable Management
Developed in direct response to telecom industry requirements. ASFR6 combines fire retardancy with antistatic properties — critical in finished data spaces where static discharge is a real risk. A clean room version is also available for specialized applications, and custom clean room orders may require minimums.
NFPA 701
Antistatic

Carbon Component Protection & Light Blocking
Opaque black FR sheeting for areas requiring light blockout or protection around carbon-sensitive components. NFPA 701-compliant with the same fast availability as our other FR products. When you need a blackout barrier that won’t fail inspection, this is the spec.
ASTM E-84
For Architects & Specifiers
Specifying FR Sheeting for a Data Center Project? Let’s Talk.
We work directly with architects and specifiers who need to get fire-retardant plastic sheeting right in the documents — before the sub ever orders material. Getting the spec wrong creates compliance problems downstream. We help prevent that.
We developed ASFR6 in direct response to telecom industry specification requirements. That means we understand product performance criteria, testing methodology, and application-specific requirements from the ground up — not just what’s on a data sheet.
No question is too technical. Whether you’re writing a spec section, evaluating product submittals, or sorting out how NFPA 75 interacts with NFPA 701 in a finished data space — we’re here. We’re happy to answer any questions about fire-retardant plastic sheeting performance, testing certifications, or application requirements for your project.

Fire Protection
Fire Protection Subcontractors
You’re pulling FR sheeting for temporary barriers, smoke containment, and penetration sealing on active sites. You know NFPA 241 and NFPA 701 — you need a supplier who knows them just as well. We stock the products you specify, we include the compliance documents with every order, and we ship when your job calls for it. No minimums on stock rolls means no overstocking to meet an order threshold.
Mechanical / HVAC
Mechanical & HVAC Subcontractors
You’re on site from mobilization through commissioning — using FR sheeting for air containment, equipment protection, and dust barriers during staging. That means repeat orders over a long job duration. We make it easy to reorder what you need, when you need it. Same compliance. Same fast shipping. Order exactly what the next phase calls for.
General Contractors
General Contractors
You’re responsible for what every sub puts up on site. When an AHJ walks the job, non-compliant barriers reflect on you — not just the sub who installed them. We supply GCs who want confidence in what their subs are sourcing. Ask us for compliance documentation upfront and keep it in the job file before anyone asks for it.
Enclosure / Cabling
Enclosure & Cabling Subcontractors
You need ASFR6 — not just any FR sheeting. Hot aisle/cold aisle containment and cable management areas in finished data facilities are governed by NFPA 75, which requires antistatic FR material. ASFR6 was built for this application specifically. We know the spec because we helped develop the product to meet it.
FAQs
Fire Retardant Plastic Sheeting for Data Centers: Frequently Asked Questions
If you are sourcing FR plastic sheeting for a data center build, retrofit, or containment project, these are some of the most common questions contractors, estimators, and specifiers ask before ordering.
What fire retardant plastic sheeting is best for temporary containment on data center jobs?
DS2FR and DS10FR are strong options for temporary containment, dust barriers, and equipment protection on active data center sites. DS2FR is commonly used for standard containment needs, while DS10FR is better suited for heavier-duty applications or longer-duration installs.
Does fire retardant plastic sheeting for data centers need to meet NFPA 701?
Yes. NFPA 701 is the baseline fire test standard for plastic films and sheeting used in these environments. In many cases, contractors and specifiers also look for ASTM E-84 performance, depending on the project requirements, GC standards, or AHJ expectations.
When should I use antistatic fire retardant plastic sheeting instead of standard FR sheeting?
Use antistatic fire retardant plastic sheeting, such as ASFR6, when static control matters in finished IT spaces, hot aisle and cold aisle containment, or cable management areas. Standard FR sheeting may work well for temporary construction containment; however, finished data spaces often require the added antistatic performance.
Do you include compliance documents with every order?
Yes. Compliance documents are included with every order so your team has them ready for inspections, submittals, and AHJ review. In addition, some products, including Dura Skrim and ASFR6, have printed specifications directly on the material for easier verification in the field.
Do I need minimum quantities to order FR sheeting?
Stock rolls do not require minimum order quantities. However, custom orders and specialty conversions may require minimums. For example, certain clean room versions of ASFR6 may be subject to minimum order requirements.
Can black fire retardant plastic sheeting be used in data center applications?
Yes. Black fire retardant plastic sheeting can be useful where light blocking, visual separation, or protected work zones are needed. As a result, it is often a practical choice when the application calls for both fire retardant performance and opacity.
